Installing the network scan driver

System requirements

Before installing the network scan driver, make sure:

Supported operating systems

Note: For specific supported operating system versions, see the Web site associated with your operating system, or open /usr/lexscan/docs/ and look for the file supported-platforms.txt after installation.

Installing and upgrading the driver on RPM- or Debian-based operating systems

  1. Download the driver package.

    1. Go to www.lexmark.com.

    2. Click Support > Drivers & Downloads.

    3. Search for the appropriate driver package for your operating system, and then download the package.

  2. Double-click the driver package, or do the following:

    1. Open the terminal window.

    2. If using an RPM-based operating system, then do the following:

      • To install the driver, type rpm -ivh package_name, where package_name is the name of the package.

      • To upgrade the driver, type rpm -Uvh package_name, where package_name is the name of the package.

    3. If using a Debian-based operating system, then type dpkg -i package_name, where package_name is the name of the package.
